Tour Details           

OPTIONAL BUS TOURS (priced separately): to and from the DoubleTree in Billings. The tours will run concurrently (so you will only be able to attend one). Symposium presentations, exhibitions and vendor set-up, will continue Sunday at the DoubleTree hotel (even as the tours are underway). Limited seating on tour buses. 
(TOUR ONE): Little Bighorn Battlefield
​— Sunday, October 1st
​*Participation limited to one bus; tour sign-ups available to symposium registrants only
—10:30am: bus departs for Custer Battlefield Trading Post & Café (lunch on your own)

—12:30pm: bus proceeds to Reno-Benteen Defense Site. We’ll make a number of stops for brief (20 minute) interpretations by symposium presenters at Reno-Benteen, Weir Point, Calhoun Hill, Keogh Sector, 7th Cavalry & Indian Memorials on Last Stand Hill, and the National Cemetery.
—4:30pm: bus departs for return to DoubleTree hotel in Billings

(TOUR TWO): Rosebud Battlefield with historian Paul Hedren — Sunday, October 1st
*Participation limited to one bus; tour sign-ups available to symposium registrants only
—9:00am: bus departs hotel for 2-hour drive to Rosebud Battlefield State Park. Paul will conduct a moderately strenuous, 3-mile round trip hike up Crook’s Hill. Attendees can opt for a shorter, flatter walk to the park’s Kobold Buffalo Jump area, guided by a Montana State Parks ranger. Includes box lunch at the battlefield picnic area.
—approx.2:30pm: bus departs for Little Bighorn Battlefield
—3:30 to 4:30pm: last opportunity to walk up Last Stand Hill, down Deep Ravine Trail, or visit the Cemetery.
—4:30pm: bus departs for Billings hotel.
