Beginning and ending in Phoenix, we’ll spend five days and five nights on an eclectic, whirlwind tour of natural and historic sites in the American Southwest. Includes a visit to Ground Zero at the Trinity Test Site, White Sands Missile Range (rarely open to the public).

OCTOBER 13–20: The Apache Wars
Small group tour with Neil Mangum Phoenix, Arizona, October 14-21, 2024 Neil Mangum is one of the nation’s preeminent authorities on the American West, and a highly sought-after guide. His long career with the National Park Service included stints as superintendent and historian at Little Bighorn Battlefield in Montana, Chiricahua National Monument & Fort Bowie Historic Site in Arizona. He also served as regional historian at the NPS’s Southwest Regional Office in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Neil has a deep and intimate knowledge of the Apache Wars and related historic sites, and has tailored our itinerary to give you an informative overview and a unique experience, while having fun along the way.
